Bastrop

Bastrop is a game in which you take on the role of a fire fighter. Numerous large-scale fires have moved into your region. It is up to you to tame these out-of-control fires before they devastate the forest. You can dig trenches, cut down trees, dump water, and set some fires of your own in this multi-difficulty action game.

My team and I dedicate this game to the Bastrop fires of 2011. This disaster was the most serious and devastating fire in the history of Texas, killing residents, leveling homes, and causing millions of dollars in damages.

This game is AEM Creations’ 2020 entry into the GMTK Game Jam. All art and programming was created during the Jam period. Aside from an image taken from the Daily Mail for use in educational materials in this game, all imagery belongs to my team.
